The Future of our “Subscribe by Email” Feature

by Nina

Right now over 5,500 of you subscribe to this blog by email. Of course there are other ways to read the blog, such as by following us on Facebook or merely by exiting directly to But so many of you have told me how much you like receiving our all our posts by email that I know how important the email aspect is to you. Unfortunately, I have now learned that the built-in feature I have been using to send those emails to you automatically for almost ten years is being discontinued.

I wanted to give you all a heads up today about this for two reasons. The first is to reassure you that I intend to figure out a different solution that will allow me to continue to send our readers all our berths by email. Nonetheless, right now our technical support team consists of a single person: me. So I have some research to do in order to find the right solution to this problem and some learning to do about how to format and send the emails with whatever brand-new concoction I decide to use for this purpose. I likewise need to use brand-new implements to maintain the subscriber schedule. And I can’t guarantee that there won’t be any hiccups along the way.

( By the path, countless people don’t realize that I do all the work on this blog, both behind the scenes as well as writing for the blog, totally free of charge. It’s a kind of community service for me, and I desire doing it! But because we don’t charge for you to read our blog and we don’t pass ads, we have a budget of zero. That means that while we try to be as professional as is practicable about passing such projects, we can’t ever achieve the same high standards that some of the for-profit yoga places out there are able to maintain. So I hope you’ll be understanding about all of this .)

The second reason I’m giving you all a heads up about this email problem is in case there is someone out there who has some good suggestions or recommendations for me. Please email me at nina @wanderingmind. com. And if there is someone who does this kind of creation professionally, I would be willing to pay for some expert consulting.

Thank you so much better,

Nina Zolotow, Editor in Chief of the Yoga for Healthy Aging blog.
